Double or Not

It is clear to see everything doubled that JOB had except for the number of children which God gave him.  God gave him the same number as he started.  We know the Bible is never wrong, and it does say that God blessed him with twice as much as he had. How do you explain it.

Yes, there is an answer.

 Job 1:1

¶ There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that
man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.
2 And there were born unto him seven sons and three daughters.
3 His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels,
and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great
household; so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east.

Now we know Job lost all these things. The 10 children, the 7,000 sheep, the
3000 camels, the 500 yoke of oxen, and the 500 asses.

But later in Job it says that God gave Job back twice as much as he had

 Job 42:10

¶ And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for
his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.

and it goes on to list what God gave him:

Job 42:12 So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his
beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and
a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses.
13 He had also seven sons and three daughters.

It is clear to see everything doubled except for the number of children
which God only gave him the same number as he started. We know the Bible is
never wrong, and it did say God blessed him with twice as much. How do you
explain it. Yes, there is an answer.

Answer: Everything was in fact doubles. THe children that Job originally had
were the only things on the list that had eternal souls. THe children were
still living spiritually for all eternity, and their bodies will again rise
at the second coming of the Lord. So the Lord needed only to provide 10 more
children and Job did in fact have 20 children at the end, 10 with him and 10
in paradise. The animals were gone once they were dead so God had to give
twice here on earth to be consistent.
