What a tremondous scripture when applied to our lives.  I look at this scripture as one of the chief cornerstones of the Christian faith.  If we take this scripture and it becomes our daily life we will become what God wants us to be.  We will be that Christian that you look at and say I want to be like him or her.  You will become Like Christ.

Will it happen overnight? No but it's a growing process.  If you practice your priesthood and offer up spiritual sacrifices you will be on the high road to knowing God in a way that you have never known him before. Let's take a look at the scripture from Isaiah 40:31

They that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. Who shall renew their strength?  They that wait on God.  What does that mean to you?   To me it means spending time alone with our Father and his Son and the Holy Spirit.   It's coming apart from the world like Jesus did on many occasions.  (If Jesus had to come apart and spend time with his Heavenly Father, how much more do you and I need to spend time with him?)  We need to take a break from this crazy world and just soak in the Father's love and Spirit.  Christians ask me how can I live the Christian life like I'm suppose to?  Well this is how, this is where the strength comes from! He will renew our strength.  That means when we are weak and strengthless we need to wait on him and he will renew our strength.  He becomes our strength in times of weakness.  But if we don't wait on him and the times of weakness come we will break and be in the why always me syndrome.  Instead, waiting on him and he will give us the strength  in time of need and we will find grace and mercy at his throne.

So when we wait on him the scripture says they shall mount up with wings as eagles. Paul says in Eph 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. When we practicing waiting on God we learn to rise above our problems and look at them from a heavenly prospective and we can have peace in the middle of the valley.  So some say how can that be.   Well it's God building us up inside in the inner man.  We get renewed day by day.  You can never know this unless you spend time with our Father.  The more time you spend with someone the more you become like them.   Well the same applies here.  Spend time with God and you will start becoming like him.  You will be living in the Spirit as the Spirit builds up inside you will be seated in heavenly places with Christ.  It is true we are seated in heavenly places right now.  However when you practice waiting on the Lord you will be experientially living in heavenly places and that scripture will become real to you.  So we can mount up with wings as eagles and sore above the problems etc. that life has to offer and see them from a heavenly prospective!

The scripture continues and says they shall run and not be weary. Paul says let us run with patience the race that is set before us.  When we do what?  When we wait on the Lord we will be able to run this race and not be weary you will not constantly get dragged down in your heart and mind.  You will run and not be weary!!

The scripture says And they shall walk and not faint. I believe this is talking about walking this Christian walk.   Sometimes it can become very hard.  Well if practice waiting on the Lord we will walk this walk and not faint not be dragged down.  Sure things will happen.   The bible says it rains on the just and the unjust.  That means things will happen to the saved and the unsaved.  However be of good cheer for I have overcome!   Yes so can we.  Actually we are overcomers, we just are not aware of it sometimes.  Well practicing the presence of God you will be aware of the fact you are a overcomer.  Then you will be able to mortify the deeds of the flesh by the Spirit.   This walk that we are walking will become just that a walk with God and God will be well pleased because we will be waiting on him for strength and in so doing we will be staying connected to the vine because waiting on the Lord you will know where your strength comes from.  From him and only him.  That's what being connected to vine in John 15 means.  Because outside of him we can do nothing.

I can't wait to just be alone with the Lord!   He rebuilds my Spirit.  I just love being alone with him.  I pray that you will practice your priestly duties and offer up spiritual sacrifices unto him!   So if Jesus had to come apart and spend time with his heavenly Father, we sure need it more!!
