Are you getting fed from Jesus?

I was driving in my car and I was listening to the Bible on tape like I do all the time. By the way this is a great way to get the word in your spirit. Faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God. Jesus is the Word also....The key to listening to the bible on tapes and also reading the word is to listen or read with out a agenda. Just let the Holy Spirit show you what he wants to show you. And that’s why I’m writing this. I was listening to to the book of Luke at the time and this section of scripture took on a whole new meaning to me. God showed me something that I would like to share with you.

In Luke 9: 13- 17

But he said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they said, We have no more but five loaves and two fishes; except we should go and buy meat for all this people.

For they were about five thousand men. And he said to his disciples, Make them sit down by fifties in a company. And they did so, and made them all sit down. Then he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them, and brake, and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude. And they did eat, and were all filled: and there was taken up of fragments that remained to them twelve baskets.

There are a few things to see here, but I would like to show you what God showed me.

Jesus said "Make them sit down by fifties in a company. And they did so, and made them all sit down........And they did eat, and were all filled" What I see here was a beautiful Miracle. But also I see is that when the disciples sat down before the Lord, they were fed. What does sitting down signify. That they were doing absolutely nothing, and God fed them. Just like what we should do. Sit before God and Wait on him and Worship him and he will feed us.

Is 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

When the apostles sat before Jesus he fed them "and they were all filled" not some of them but all of them were filled. If we stop all our running around and just be still and know he is God we will get fed and be filled. Psalm 16:11 Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy:....This is the path of life sitting at his feet and just getting filled.

We also see it in the scripture in the next chapter.

Lu 10:38 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.

And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word.

But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.

And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

Martha was running around getting things together and trying to serve Jesus. Mary was sitting at Jesus feet and she "Heard his Word" again this is where we get fed....Martha actually got mad at Jesus and told him to have Mary help him. This is what happens to so many people who have a serve mentality towards Jesus. Everybody around them must be busy or doing the samething that they are doing. You become judgmental and full of righteousness, no fruit of the spirit...However Jesus said "Martha, Martha...he said her name twice. Like when our Mother or Father calls our name, not once but twice...Jesus is saying Martha, Martha you are careful and troubled about so many things but only one thing is needful and Mary had chosen the Good part.

Don’t you want the good part that Jesus is talking about? You can have it!! It’s free for the asking and there is nothing you have to do to earn it. It’s like salvation. Just come to his feet and Worship him and be still and don’t say a word and just close your eyes and wait on him. He will fill you up. Believe me he will. I minister unto the Lord almost everyday and it’s a beautiful thing. I can’t wait to be still and know he is God. That’s where I get fed and filled!

God is so good that he gives us the free entrance unto his Throne of Grace. Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

My brother or sister please, practice your priesthood unto the Lord.

So if you want to get fed and filled, do like the disciples did and sit and be still and let Jesus feed you and fill you to overflowing! That you may know what is the good and perfect will of your Father in Heaven.
