Circumcision or Uncircumcision,
which extreme are you?

The Lord showed me this today. Gal 5:6 reads For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything, but faith working though love. We have the Galatians who were being persuaded to go back under the law after being set free by the Grace of God through Jesus Christ. They were being asked to be circumcised. To do the things of the Law again. Paul was saying who has bewitched you. Being justified by faith do you think you are made perfect by the law? He said if righteousness comes by the law then Christ Died in vain or needlessly. The law cannot make us righteous but only the blood of Jesus can. If we think we can be justified by the law or by doing things to be better in God’s sight, the the bible says we have fallen from Grace and Christ has become of no effect. Now what are the effects of Christ? Love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, meekness, self-control, goodness, faithfulness. So these are some of the effects of Christ and If we keep trying to please God through observances of the law or any man made laws or any that our church leaders have added to the word, then we have fallen from
Grace.

Now if we don’t have the effects of Christ then we are just like the Pharisees, and Sadducess etc... They would keep the whole law in their eyes blameless. Look what it got them. No compassion no Love for mankind etc. None of the fruits of the spirit. We are Justified by faith, not the works of the law. So stop trying to do things to make God happy because most likely your doing them by your own flesh, and by the flesh no man can please God.

Now we have the other extreme. Paul said neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything but faith working through love. Now we have the otherside of the coin the uncircumcision who do not get circumcised and think they are the better and under Grace that they don’t have to do anything. Which in actuality is true. Not being better but because there is nothing that we can do that can add to what Jesus has done already at Calvary But faith working through Love. We are told to Love the Lord with all our heart and with all our mind and with all our soul and with all our strength. And to Love our neighbor as ourselves. Love is the fulfillment of the law. Now our job is to Love God with all our hearts. Take Martha and Mary in Luke 10:38-42 To make it short Jesus was in Martha’s home and Mary was with them and Mary was at the feet of Jesus and Martha was running around trying to do things for Jesus. Jesus said Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things; but only a few things are necessary, really only one, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

We need to have time alone with the Lord and Worship him like Mary did. The bible says they that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. Not he who runs around like Martha trying to do for me.

Because if we Love the Lord like he says. We will do for the Lord, but it will be out of a Love, its a different driving force. It will be the Love of God. The bible says the Love of Christ controls us. Not ourselves. Let the Love of Christ control you today. Take your eyes off of yourself and fix them on Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith. He’s the author (he started) and the finisher(he will finish). Faithful is he who calls you and who also will do it.

So if your on either side of the fence Circumcision or Uncircumcision, we are on the wrong side. We need to be on top of the fence which is Jesus. Dead right in the center.   You can’t go wrong with Jesus. Just stay centered on Christ and you will fulfill the law and you will have the peace which passes all understanding, because your not trusting in yourself but your justification is in Christ. Like Rom 5:1 says “being justified by faith we have peace with God”.

So circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything but Faith working through or by Love. Brother and sisters in the Lord. Let’s learn to Love one another as Christ has loved the Church (the body of Christ).
